If you're reading this, odds are that at some point you've wondered to yourself: "Where's my favorite author buried, and how can I visit them?"

In this blog, I document my journeys to the graves of as many famous and not-so-famous authors as my time and budget will permit.  My primary visits will be to authors of fiction, but every now and then I may wander over to nonfiction writers, or other famous graves.

So why authors, and why their graves?

For lots of people, reading is a joy.  It teaches us, it challenges us, and it induces us to explore and imagine entire worlds.  And the authors are the ones we have to thank for that.  Even in death, these people continue to give to the world and enrich our lives.

I can think of no better way of saying 'Thank You' than by visiting their graves.

And who am I?

My name is E.J. Hagadorn, and I am a lover of literature.  I studied it in college, I read it as often as possible, and I write it on occasion, too.  Having a morbid sense of curiosity, I spend a lot of time in graveyards.  I love the peace and quiet, and the good company.

It is my hope that by writing this blog, others who share my passions for literature and graveyards will be able to visit the graves of their own favorite authors.
